Barouche of Boomer's Revenge, CD, FR Brevet
|
|
Barouche is owned,
trained and handled by Gary Black, co-owned by Cory Downey Hart. This dynamic little girl received her AKC Companion Dog title at the age of 16 months, qualifying in every trial she entered. At 27
months, she received her French Ring Brevet, placing first out of five
dogs, with the high score in Brevet. Barouche is the
first dog Gary has trained & competed with.
Her success is not
much of a surprise to her parents - Redwinds Icabod Vuibaard who is a
certified Police Dog in Pacific Grove CA. (Icky has earned
Schutzhund III 12 times. Won the North American Working Bouvier
Championship in 1996. Icky competed in the 1999 International
Police Dog Championship at Reno, NV. Icky came in 3rd among U.S.
Police dogs.) and mom Centauris Shasta, Sch.II Now
it’s on to Ring I for Gary & Barouche.

Gary’s Take on her Brevet: Barouche got her French Ring Brevet ( high score ! ) 92
points out of possible 100 Saturday. The Judge was from
France, Serge Ocard. There was 5 entries for the Brevet and three
( tie ) scores of 92 points. The tiebreaker was the bite work.
Barouche did the best by losing the least points in her bite work.
She got a perfect score in Defense of Handler exercise, and lost 4
points on the Face Attack exercise coming off the bite after 14 seconds.
So she lost the points for the early out. The decoy ( helper ) was engaging her as required for the
Face Attack, Brevet level ( i.e. stick hits, lots of movement, swinging
her around a bit ). When she came off she stayed with the decoy, and
appeared to be looking for an entry. Horn blew, and I remembered *
not * to use the OUT command since she was already out which would have
been ANOTHER HANDLER ERROR, more points lost. It is easy for the
handler ( in Ring Sport ) to loose more points than the dog
sometimes...... I had already lost 2 points for Bad Handling
because I didn't remember to give a placement command at the start of
the Heal of Leash with Muzzle, exercise.
